Check Your Medicaid Status
Would you like to check your Medicaid status? Follow the steps below:
- 1 Go to mydss.mo.gov.
- 2 Click on the “check your status” button at the top.
- 3 Enter Date Of Birth and Social security number OR your Date Of Birth and DCN number.
- 4 Hit submit and you should see your status.
How Does Medicaid Expansion Affect Me?
More people are now eligible for Medicaid. You may be one of them. In August 2020, Missouri voters approved Medicaid expansion.
Coverage will include adults up to age 64 with income levels less than 133% of the poverty level.

Medicaid FAQs
MO HealthNet covers medical exams, inpatient hospital care, lab services, x-rays, prescriptions, vision exams, eye glasses, family planning services, substance treatment services and much more.
Children under MO HealthNet can receive speech therapy, occupational therapy, vaccinations, counseling and regular checkups.
Children and most adults can receive dental exams, cleanings, fillings and extractions. Those who are blind, pregnant or live in a nursing home can receive additional dental benefits.

Medicaid does not cover over-the-counter medications, missed appointments or cosmetic procedures.

Medicaid provides coverage for low-income families, children, pregnant women, seniors and people with disabilities. More individuals and families will be able to get coverage with Medicaid expansion. Talk to Jordan Valley to see if you are eligible.
You do not have to reapply each year, but you do have to renew. You will get a short form in the mail from Missouri’s Family Service Division. Complete and return the form to maintain your coverage.

You will receive a letter in the mail telling you if you are approved for MO HealthNet. If you applied online, you may also log in to the myDSS Portal to check your status. You can also call Missouri’s Family Service Division at (855) 373-4636 for questions about your application.
If you worked with one of our Care Coordinators to apply, we will contact you by phone, if you are approved, to explain what your plan covers.
When Missouri’s Medicaid office gets your application, you will be sent a letter. The letter includes information on when your coverage will start. You can also check for this information online on the myDSS.mo.gov website.
